Happy Tuesday, Flotrack! It was a slow news day, so we're dusting off the depth chart and a proverbial "deep cut" of Flotrack contributors.

And now the "news"

Notorious bully Chris Christie has thwarted American Hero Carl Lewis' attempt to redeem himself in the eyes of patriots everywhere. Do yourself a favor and take two minutes to watch this video, which ought to make everyone nostalgic for early ESPN:

Still recovering from Degrassi, Toronto has politely -classic Canada- bowed out of the bidding for the 2024 Games. Also of note, this publication has quoted Flotrack's own Mitch Kastoff regarding Toronto's mayor's well-documented drug abuse.

Mitch is over here spouting off about a 75% tax on soccer players' compensation in Paris. This would not extend to Usain Bolt's inevitable winnings in the upcoming Diamond League Meet. However, word is still out regarding how this new legislation will apply toward his Chicken McNugget expenditures.

The Internet made up an essentially valueless currency and somehow succeeded in raising sufficient funds to send the Jamaican squad to the Sochi games. I'm no economist, but this is just wacky. That said, it opens up potential doors for athletes to fund their careers in a similar manner. Imagine Nick Symmonds' supporters donating hypothetical "Nicky Bucks" to send our nation's top 800 man to meets around the globe.
