Another World Record for Dibaba
Did we really just witness that? For those have you who figured out a way to watch the IAAF Stockholm XL-Galan Indoor Meet, we were treated to ANOTHER World Record by Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia. Wow. Dibaba ran 8:16.60. In back-to-back races she runs back-to-back World Records. Former record holder Meseret Defar ran 8:23.72 on February 3, 2007.

This is a full :10 second PR for Dibaba, breaking her personal best from last season in the same venue in Stockholm. Obviously, the European indoor circuit is absolutely the best place for world class times to be thrown down as the top 13 times ever run for 3k indoors were run in Europe.

Also, it's not surprising she ran that well today in Stockholm as Dibaba, just last year at the same meet, ran 8:26 --and it was live on Flotrack.

Although this is not the first sub 8:20 performance for an all-conditions 3k ever, it is the first time it has been done since 1993 when the Chinese were running absolutely absurd times.

Is Dibaba slowly becoming the greatest legitimate (hopefully) female distance runner in the world? We can't forget about her sister Tirunesh Dibaba who owns the world record for 5000m and the third best time for 10,000m and also Meseret Defar, who owns the second and third best times for 5000m and the fifth best time for 10000m.

Regardless of the who's the GOAT talk, Dibaba right now is the best in the world and is the best the world's ever seen for indoor 1500m and now the indoor 3000m.
