Rashid Ramzi to compete at World Relays
Bahrain's Rashid Ramzi, the disgraced Olympian who was stripped of his 2008 Olympic 1,500-meter gold medal following a positive doping test, is running on his country's 4x1,500-meter relay next week at the 2014 IAAF World Relay Championships.
Fifteen months after the Beijing Olympics, Ramzi tested positive for continuous erythropoietin receptor activator (CEPA), which is an advanced version of erythropoietin (EPO). Ramzi was sentenced to a two-year ban in January 2010.

There was speculation in 2011 whether Ramzi would run for his national team again. Three years later, he'll don the red and gray Bahraini singlet in Nassau, Bahamas.

Ramzi's last race was on July 2013, where he placed 3rd in his 1,500-meter heat (3:51.63) at the 20th Asian Athletics Championships.

The inaugural IAAF World Relays begins on Saturday, May 24th and concludes Sunday, May 25th. Flotrack will be on-site to provide coverage.
