Asafa Powell to return to competition
Former 100-meter world record holder Asafa Powell, who had been suspended for 18-months by the Jamaican Anti-Doping disciplinary panel, has is returning to competition.
 
According to the American Track League’s Facebook page, Powell will be competing tonight in Houston, TX. The start list for the event includes Powell in the Men’s 100-meters.
 
Powell tested positive for oxilofrine at the Jamaican National Championships in June 2013. He will be officially eligible to return to competition on December 20, 2014.
 
The 31-year-old’s last competition was at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting on July 4, where he ran 9.88 in the 100-meter dash.
 
The Doyle Management Group, lead by founder and CEO Paul Doyle, is both the organizer of the American Track League and Powell’s agent.

While Powell is on the start list, it is unsure whether Powell will be able to compete tonight. This story is developing.
