Dibaba Pregnant, Will Miss 2015

The Baby Faced Destroyer is having a baby.

Three-time Olympic gold medalist Tirunesh Dibaba will miss the 2015 track season as she is expecting her first child with husband Sileshi Sihine, according to the IAAF's Jon Mulkeen

Dibaba used the 2014 season to try the marathon distance and finished third in April's London Marathon with a time of 2:20:35. Some felt she could have run faster had it not been for an aid station mistake where Dibaba fumbled her water bottle and lost ground on Edna and Florence Kiplagat after 30 kilometers.

Dibaba will be unable to defend her 2013 World Championship gold medal over 10,000-meters. She will be able to return to action ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, where she can defend her gold from London 2012. The 29-year-old made her 10,000-meter debut in 2005 and has yet to lose in 11 contests.

Ethiopia owned four of the five fastest times over 10,000-meters on the track in 2013. Meseret Defar's 30:08.06 was the only woman faster than Dibaba's 30:26.67. Defar missed the 2014 season due to pregnancy and will return in 2015. She won the 5,000-meter gold medal in Moscow.
