Valerie AdamsNew Zealand’s Valerie Adams was recently crowned the female World Athlete of the Year, the first female thrower to ever win the honor at the World Athletics Gala in November. And for good reason. She won a world indoor crown in Sopot after throwing 20.67m, the best throw in the world this year. She was the only athlete to win all seven Diamond League contests, and also won her third Commonwealth Games title. She now has an unbeaten streak of 56 competitions.
