Qatari mid-distance runner Hamza Driouch was given a two-year suspension by the IAAF on Tuesday for doping.

Irregularities were found in the 20-year-old’s biological passport, which tracks an athlete's blood profile for purposes of detecting abnormalities.

The 2012 World Junior champion in the 1,500m will be ineligible for competition until December 30th, 2016.

Driouch has PRs of 3:33.69 in the 1,500m and 3:50.90 in the mile, the latter of the two being a national junior record. He qualified for the 2012 London Olympics as a 17-year-old, but did not advance to the final.
