NCAA Preview: Men's/Women's 60m Hurdles

Omar McLeod, Arkansas
The Razorback sophomore will be hard to stop this upcoming weekend on his home track as he enters the Big Dance with a season’s best of 7.49. Not only does his time lead the NCAA by 0.23 seconds, but he has yet to lose a race this 2015 season. Each final McLeod has run has resulted in a new season’s best, so he is the clear favorite to win a national title.

Kendra Harrison, Kentucky
In a league of her own, Kendra Harrison will roll into Fayetteville with the hype and expectation that she well deserves. The Kentucky senior has cemented her dominance in the NCAA thus far being the only athlete in the field with a personal best under 8 seconds. Only running in two meets this year, the Hoosier Open back in December and the SEC Indoor Championships, the veteran is looking to cap her short season at the top of the podium.

Sebastian Barth, Northern Iowa
The Northern Iowa senior is one of four fantastic hurdlers all with a season’s best time of 7.72. Though he does not have the fastest time in the nation, he has been undefeated in 2015 and threw down a scary fast time at the UNI Team Invite back in January. He has not competed since then, so he should be well rested and hungry for a shot at a that title.

Dondre Echols, South Carolina
Echols, the high school football standout out of Maryland, traded his football helmet for some spikes in hopes of shaking things up on the track scene. He enters the NCAA Championships with a four-way tie for the No. 2 spot in the nation at 7.72 and has raced well at high profile meets with his commanding win a the Armory Track Invitational earlier this year. However, he failed to qualify out of the prelims at SEC's, so is he could be running with a little added fire after a poor conference showing. Also running a quick 7.72 this season includes previously mentioned Sebastian Barth, Houston’s Issac Williams, and Nebraska’s Oladapo Akinmoladun.

Bridgette Owens, Florida

The No. 2 ranked hurdler is looking for revenge after a runner-up finish at SEC’s, losing to the 60mH favorite Harrison. Her 2015 season best of 8.02 was run in Fayetteville back at the Tyson Invitational, so her comfort and familiarity with Arkansas will work to her advantage as the Gator looks to take down her conference rival.

Joshua Thompson, LSU
The LSU senior, who has had a very busy and eventful indoor season, enters the 60mH ranked tied for No. 6 in the nation with a 7.73 which he ran at the Tyson Invitational. A member of the 4x100m team that placed 3rd in last year’s outdoor championships, Thompson is no stranger to fierce competition. He has placed runner-up a number of times this season, so this Tiger is ready to pounce on an opportunity to show that he is someone to fear.

Dior Hall, USC
The freshman phenom out of Southern California is someone who will turn some heads in Fayetteville. The youngster threw down an impressive 8.09 converted time at the Don Kirby meet in Albuquerque, cementing herself in the No. 5 spot nationally. She won the MPSF 60mH title out in Seattle a couple weeks ago, putting Hall in a position of great momentum moving toward the championship race.
