2011 400m world champion Amantle Montsho has been banned for two years after testing positive at the Commonwealth Games last July.

Montsho, a native of Botswana, was the 2010 Commonwealth champion and won the 2011 World Championship 400m in 49.56. She finished fourth at the 2012 Olympic Games and won the silver medal at the 2013 World Championships. Her personal best in the event is 49.33.

Montsho’s “A” and “B” samples both yielded positive results after she finished fourth in the Commonwealth race.
