Brand-new sub-4 miler Matthew Maton joins the podcast to discuss his historic performance over the weekend, where he became the sixth high schooler to run under 4. His 3:59.38 ranks him as the 3rd fastest all-time, behind only Alan Webb and Jim Ryun.

 

Maton walks us through the race, and also talks about the events surrounding his departure from his high school team. Maton believes that he would not have broken 4 if he wouldn’t have left the team. 

 

Finally, the guys ask Maton about prom, which was the day after the 3:59. His date? None other than Nike pro Alexa Efraimson.
