Leibold, pictured leading the pack at the Big East Cross Country Championships, needs your help!
Collin Leibold, a senior 5000m runner for Georgetown University, needs your help.
Leibold, who ran 13:54 in the East Preliminary Round to advance to the NCAA Championships, is heading to Kenya on June 16. He will be working in Lare, a village in Nakuru County, with the ultimate goal of returning to the village after his fifth-year of NCAA eligibility (next year), and starting a sustainable running group out of the Mother of Mercy Girls Secondary School located there.
Here is how YOU can help Leibold if you’re in Eugene for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
He is asking for female NCAA athletes to donate any of these three things:
1. Gently used running shoes (trainers, flats, spikes) sizes 6-9
2. Running apparel
3. Notes to the girls at the school. They are high school ages and love running, so any inspiration or advice from you competitors!
Leibold will be in Eugene this Wednesday through Saturday and then in Portland through Monday and is willing to pick up donations from hotels around the area.
You can contact Collin via email at cml237@georgetown.edu
