ASICS Future Stars: Freshman Girls Final Release

Top freshman Ember Stratton owns the fastest 3-mile and 5K times for the Class of 2019
Navigating a hectic cross country season is no small order for a wide-eyed freshman, but the following list of ladies have done it better than any other 9th graders across the country.
Without further ado, here is the final freshman girls Future Stars release of 2015:
First Team
Ember Stratton (Portland, OR)

Stratton heads to NXN after a sixth place finish at the Northwest regional. The Sunset (OR) freshman topped both the 5K (17:18) and 3-mile (16:38) leaderboards for the Class of 2019 this season, so she has clearly earned her spot on the first team.
Tiahna Vladic (Billings, MT)

After beating Stratton at NXN Northwest, Billings (MT) freshman Tiahna Vladic heads to Portland as the odds-on-favorite to earn top frosh honors. Vladic was third at the Montana state meet, and an impressive fourth at her NXN regional.
Kelsey Chmiel (Saratoga Springs, NY)

Chimiel was the runner-up at NXN New York last weekend, leading her Saratoga Springs team to a second place finish and an auto bid to Portland. Her 17:27 5K from late September is second-best by a freshman in 2015.
Cassidy Haskell (Orinda, CA)

The fastest freshman across all divisions at the California state meet, Cassidy Haskill’s 17:37 last weekend was good for a runner-up finish in CIF D3. That, and she cut more than a minute off her PR to boot.
Chloe Arriaga (Walnut, CA)

Walnut High (CA) sophomore Chloe Arriaga owns the second-fastest 3-mile performance by a member of the Class of 2019 with her 16:51 on November 14th. Her seventh place finish in CIF D1 made her the top frosh in California’s deepest division.
Mattie Shirley-Fairbairn (Bismarck, ND)

The North Dakota star was undefeated in her home state throughout 2015, flying under the radar if only because girls run the 4K distance there. In spite of this, MSF cracks the prestigious top seven after her 17:30 5K at NXN Heartland.
Quinn McConnell (Lafayette, CO)

McConnell took the win in her division at the Colorado state meet, her third straight victory and fourth overall in 2015. Despite the majority of her times being slowed by altitude, the freshman’s 17:39 at Stanford in late September proved what she’s truly capable of at sea level.
