"Every day is an opportunity to make a happy ending"

Over the past two weeks, I have found myself living life to the fullest. I had a long string of time where I was genuinely unhappy because things kept on going wrong. Countless numbers of very unlucky injuries, sicknesses and setbacks put me in a hole where it was difficult to enjoy my day to day. On the other hand, I am surrounded by wonderful friends, family and new opportunities to make me happy. Aside from those individuals helping me out of the hole I was in, opportunities are what made me want to write. Running, school and life. Running wise, things are finally coming together. Doing my first workout last week was nearly ground breaking as I haven't done a workout since outdoor track when I developed achilles tendonitis and caused my time off. Last week, I hit 69.0 miles with a 13.5 mile long run and 1 workout. This upcoming week, I should hit 75-80 miles, a 14.5 mile long run and at least 1 workout. To even top that off, the workout tomorrow is going to be with the top guys again. I have the opportunity to have a great season still, which makes me elated. When I first heard the news of another stress fracture, I figured my season was a bust and I was rocked. I'm way ahead of schedule now and may be racing within a month as long as there are no setbacks. Paul Short is at the end of the month and that may be the season opener for me. Hopefully I am in good shape by then, which I think is more than achievable. Our team can be so good this year and I know I want in on the action. I want to be a part of it and to help these guys win championships. 3x Big East and 3x Northeast Region champions and then podium. I know we can do it. Aside from running, there are opportunities with school. Many people ask me what I want to do with my nutrition degree or what my post collegiate plans are - I want to run professionally. That could mean just shoes and gear or some awesome contract, but either way, it will be fullfillment to some degree. Running professionally has always been a dream of mine and I think it's attainable, so that's my goal. After that, I plan to be the new "Cake Boss". I will specialize in wedding cakes, but have a store front for cupcakes. I can't think of many examples off the top of my head for products, but here are a couple: classic red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, cinnamon apple spice cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting, blueberry lemon cake with lemon buttercream and blueberries. I hope you're salivating. Opportunities with running to have a great season and help this team out to win more championships, opportunities to fullfill my dreams of running professionally, opportunities with baking and then lastly there are new life opportunities. I don't want to go into too much detail as things are in the works, but I think I might have something special in my horizons. It just makes me smile to even think about it. That's all for now!
