 Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes?
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? is a Latin phrase from the Roman poet Juvenal, which is literally translated as "Who will guard the guards themselves? I first came across the saying in Dan Brown's novel, Digital Fortress. It sprung forth from my subconscious As I sat on my couch Friday evening. I was watching rich men in nice suits shuffling from one room to the next in what seemed like a mad dash to avoid a government shutdown. It occurred to me that there were much larger issues at stake. It would be disingenuous for me to feign any depth of knowledge on the background of the current political crisis. In fact, this was one of the first times that I had ever had my tv tuned to MSNBC for an extended period of time. My immediate interest had to do with the effect the potential government shutdown would have on the GW Parkway Classic.

The GW Parkway is a 10 mile road race held in Washington DC that i won this past weekend (04/10/11).
