Webb visits Tucson

The discussion about where America's mile record-holder will end up continues. According to our sources. Alan Webb was just in Tucson, Arizona talking with Coach James Li and Bernard Lagat.
Recently speculated that Webb could possibly end up under the instruction of Coach Li, it now seems even more probable. James Li, currently the distance coach at Arizona, could offer Webb the possibility of loosely having a training group, but also do much of his own training alone (like Lagat). Perhaps this was something missing with an all-elite Oregon Project group. As history has maybe shown, Webb likes an aspect of independence with his training group (i.e. his Michigan experience as well).
Also, Webb is reportedly visiting the University of Virginia in the near future. A possibility pointed to early on, Coach Vigilante at UVA (formerly at Texas) could offer Webb a training environment close to home and a laundry list of middle-distance coaching credentials.
Stay tuned to Flotrack for more updates as we learn more about Webb's next move.
