i don't know if you can classify it as such, but i've been trying to go to bed for almost 3 hours. black. complete silence. a cool 73 degree room. the only thing that keeps me from dreaming something really awesome, that i don't even know about yet, is rehearsal. it's a habit i get into the nights before competition. but not in the fall. which is why i'm writing this. i go over each event in the decathlon one by one, mentally practicing it as if it were about to happen. i get goose bumps and adrenaline rushes all the same. i vision myself pr-ing in everything and crossing the finish line first by some rediculous margin. and there's always some extra burst of speed that last 200m of the 1500m that I WOULD only dream about!! so then these thoughts led to me wondering if x-c men and women rehearse their races? i mean, 28-35 minute races would be pretty time consuming to practice in your head. wouldn't they? please tell that track stars and field eventers aren't the only people who do this!! (sleepless smithers)
