Head Coach John Gondak gives a preview of what to expect at this year's Penn State Relays

Track. Is. Back.

It never went away, itÂ’s just been in hibernation. After a nearly two-month hiatus from cross country - we are back to competition and will be kicking off indoor season in Happy Valley this Saturday, LIVE on FloTrack!

“Middle-Distance University” put on a heck of season opener last year that saw an epic A vs. B squad showdown in the 4x800, that lead to a record-setting performance by All-Americans Brannon Kidder and Robby Creese.

This year should be no different while itÂ’s safe to assume that Kidder will be concentrating more on the 800m this year after a runner-up showing at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Champs in the event. Iowa State had the man who won that event, although they lost him to graduation - they will be bringing a new crop of middle distance studs to compete with Kidder and crew.

Creese, who was a part of last year's 4x800 winning team is out of indoor eligibility but will be running an unattached mile.

PLUS THEREÂ’S ALWAYS THAT FABLED DMR. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT COULD HAPPEN IN THE DMR!

One of the most exciting meets of the entire year for multiple reasons. We get to see who held on to that #CrossCountryFitness, especially the Penn State women who are fresh off Mid-Atlantic Regional and Big 10 Conference Cross Country Championships.

Led by Tori Gerlach who ran on last yearÂ’s Penn State Relays winning DMR team, the womenÂ’s team looks to take the success of the fall towards indoor season. It will also help to have sophomores Elizabeth Chikotas and Jillian Hunsberger back on the track.

And how can you not be excited about former Foot Locker XC Champion Tessa Barrett stepping on the track for the first time competing as a collegiate.
