Who is better? Distance star Edward Cheserek, or defending NCAA 60m champ Ronnie Baker? What about the top high jumper or weight thrower? Comparing athletes across different events is difficult. We decided to develop a formula to rank the top 25 athletes in NCAA Division I track and field based on who will make the most impact at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.

FloTrack Power Rankings Criteria:
- 2015 Indoor NCAA Performance
- 2015 Outdoor NCAA Performance
- 2015 Indoor Best Mark (2014 if redshirted 2015)
- 2016 Indoor Best Mark

Before we get into the rankings it is important to note that freshmen are not included in the top 25 due to having zero NCAA championship performances on their resume. As a result, here are the notable freshmen who could potentially crack the top 25 as the season progresses.

Notable Freshmen:
Donavan Brazier (Texas A&M)
Justyn Knight (Syracuse)
Allie Ostrander (Boise State)
Alexis Weeks (Arkansas)
