Kendall Baisden has signed a professional contract with adidas.
The former Texas Longhorn will open up her professional career at the House of Track this Friday in the 400m, according to the ENTRIES.
Baisden is one of the most successful youth and junior runners in U.S. history. As an eighth grader in 2009 she ran 53.05 and finished sixth in the 400m at the 2011 World Youth Championships. She was a member of two World Junior gold medal-winning 4x400m relays (2012, 2014) and was the 400m World Junior champion in 2014.
At Texas she finished third in the NCAA 400m indoors and outdoors as a freshman and runner-up outdoors as a sophomore. She was a key player in two Longhorn 4x4 NCAA Championship teams.
Baisden most recently finished seventh, the top collegiate, in the 400m at the USATF Outdoor Championships. She won gold in the 400m and 4x4 at the Pan American Games. Her personal best time of 50.46 comes from the 2014 Big 12 Championship meet where she finished second behind former teammate and collegiate record-holder Courtney Okolo.
