Watch the Big 12 Championship LIVE!

There is just one matchup this weekend that pits the defending NCAA champion against his runner-up— the men’s 60m dash. Even if you have just 6.5 seconds of free time on Saturday, make sure you use them wisely by tuning into what should be another classic Big 12 final.

The fastest race in the country will once again be in Ames, Iowa for a heavyweight showdown between TCU’s Ronnie Baker (2015 NCAA champ) and Oklahoma State’s John Teeters (2015 NCAA runner-up), although neither man has the distinction of being the defending Big 12 champ. That honor goes to Texas’ Senoj-Jay Givans, who upset the pair plus Trayvon Bromell in 2015, and will look to once again play giant killer as he chases his third consecutive conference crown in the event.

2015 Big 12 Men's 60m final:

This race will go a long way towards determining the favorite for next month’s NCAA Championships, and I’ve taken the liberty of breaking down three reasons why each man should like his chances of exiting conference weekend as the nation’s most feared sprinter.

Senoj-Jay Givans, Texas (6.57 PR)

1. He's never lost a Big 12 60m title— he's clearly very comfortable on this track.

2. Finished fourth in the NCAA 100m— he’s the only man to make the final in Eugene last spring. Very different events, yes, but Givans had the last word in 2015.

3. Neither Baker or Teeters has ever won an individual Big 12 title.

John Teeters, Oklahoma State (6.52 PR)

1. Has not lost a 60m all season— 4 for 4.

2. At 6.54, Teeters is tied for the fastest time in the country in 2016.

3. He beat Baker and Givans handily in mid-January— 6.60 to 6.65.

Ronnie Baker, TCU (6.52 PR)

1. Defending NCAA champion

Baker's victory last year in Fayetteville:

2. Coming off his best performance of the season, 6.58 at Tyson Invitational— momentum is a thing.

3. He beat Teeters— the favorite on paper— twice at the end of last season, at Big 12s and NCAAs.

PREDICTION: I’m going with Teeters to keep his perfect 60m season going with a 6.57 Big 12 title. He dominated Baker and Givans the last time the trio met.
