Molly Seidel ran 15:15.21 to capture the 2016 NCAA women's indoor 5K championship in the third-fastest time in NCAA history in March. The victory marked the Notre Dame junior's third straight NCAA title, though Michigan's Erin Finn stayed close on her heels through the first two miles of competition in Birmingham, Alabama. Finn finished second in 15:23.16, the No. 9 all-time mark in the NCAA.



Twenty-four hours later, Seidel completed the NCAA 5K/3K double, battling Finn again and ultimately being victorious in 8:57.86.
