Every runner has, basically, two templates of running dreams: one where a race goes spectacularly well, and one with peanut butter legs. In an 800m prelim at the Irish Universities Indoor Championships, Aengus Meldon was leading his heat when the bungee came flying off during the pole vault warmups, and wrapped around Meldon's shoulder. Meldon then tried to throw the bungee off. It then wrapped around his ankles, and Meldon stumbled to the finish. Please watch it.



Apparently, "Janey Mack!" is something Irish people say. Meldon was advanced to the final.

Molly Huddle After Fourth Consecutive USATF 10K Victory

DES MOINES (21-Jun) -- With machine-like precision, Molly Huddle picked apart the field of the women's 10,000m here on the first day of the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium, winning her fourth straight 10K title by a comfortable four seconds in 31:52.32.  In doing so, Huddle became the first American woman ever to win four consecutive 10,000m titles. It was also her 27th national title in any discipline, track or road.

The University of Texas has settled the gender and race discrimination lawsuit filed by former head women's track and field coach Bev Kearney after a five-and-a-half year court battle.
