Jamaican sprinter Jordon Scott passed away as a result of a car crash on Hope Road in Kingston, Jamaica on Sunday morning, according to reports from the Jamaica Observer.

Scott was driving a Honda Civic with fellow MVP Track Club teammate Michael Campbell when the car spun out of control around 4:45 am and crashed into a utility pole, according to police reports. Campbell survived the crash but is currently in the hospital.
Scott was a student at the University of Technology (UTECH) in Kingston and held personal bests of 21.08 in the 200m and 48.01 in the 400m. According to results database Tilastopaja, Scott's most recent race was a runner-up finish in the 200m at an all-comers meet in Kingston.
Campbell contributed to Jamaica's 4x100m relay team in the semifinals of the IAAF World Championships in London. He set a personal best of 10.07 in the 100m when he placed fourth at the Jamaican national championships in June. Later in the summer, he improved in the 200m when he ran 20.47 at the Guldensporen meeting in Belgium.
