University Of Texas, Oregon Will Host 2019-2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships
The NCAA announced today that the University of Texas and Oregon will host the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, respectively.
The next two editions of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships are officially coming to Austin, Texas, at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium— a scant three miles from FloSports HQ. We'd like to think that the NCAA took our article picking ATX as the best potential new host venue into consideration, but the truth is much simpler than that: the Longhorns' stadium is badass.
Texas last hosted the NCAA Championships in 2004, and, according to the NCAA, yielded the highest single-day turnout over the past 22 years when 14,000 fans showed up for the final day of competition.
The 2019 and 2020 championships will thus be held in Austin before returning to Eugene at the University of Oregon for the 2021 and 2022 events in a highly revamped Hayward Field, which is getting a major makeover in anticipation of hosting the 2021 IAAF World Championships.
