Analysis:

The Furman Paladins have had a whirlwind past few seasons. In 2015 the men finished a surprise 13th overall with zero seniors on their roster. In 2016 they made a strategic decision to redshirt their top three returners to go "all-in" in 2017. Despite having a weaker squad the men almost made the NCAA meet that year, missing out by just one point in the southeast regional.

Last year the men were on fire all season long looking to be strong contenders for a top ten maybe even top five finish at NCAAs. However, they unfortunately had an off day in Louisville resulting in a disappointing 26th place finish. Flash forward to 2018 and Coach Gary is looking to show some consistency with a strong group of returners who have the talent to finish in the top-20.

Aaron Templeton, Mason Coppi and Daniel Bernal should lead the charge for the Paladins. Junior milers Ryan Adams and Jake Ogden should look to round out the top five with incoming true freshman Cameron Ponder being a wildcard impact newcomer. If Ponder adjusts well to the 8k/10k distance the Furman men should be in good hands this season and future seasons to come.
