Analysis:

This might be the year head coach Corey Ihmels leads his women’s program to their first ever podium finish after bringing them to the NCAA championships for the first time ever just four years ago in 2014. Once again, the Broncos will be led by two-time NCAA 3k steeplechase champion Allie Ostrander who will look to challenge defending champion and conference rival Ednah Kurgat for the coveted individual xc crown.

Behind Ostrander the Broncos will rely on Clare O’Brien, Emily Venters and Gracie Tostenson all of which have run sub-16 minute 5ks. However, the key to the Broncos success will be the status of All-American Brenna Peloquin. Peloquin redshirted last fall and hasn’t raced since February 2017. If Peloquin can return to her 2016 form she will help the Broncos form a reliable 1-2-3 punch with O’Brien and Ostrander ultimately leading this team to their first ever podium finish.
