Analysis:

Four of Wisconsin’s top five scorers from last year’s 10th-place team at NCAA XC return to the fold in 2019, including Nos. 1 and 2, Alicia Monson and Amy Davis. Monson enjoyed a breakout year in her junior campaign, winning the NCAA indoor 5K and placing fourth at NCAA XC. She’ll be a major title threat in November as long as she stays healthy. Veteran Davis will be gunning for her first XC All-American honors after placing eighth in the NCAA outdoor 10K final this spring.

The women will be guided by a new coach in Mackenzie Wartenberger, who spent the past four seasons at the University of Utah. She helped the women’s team qualify for the NCAA XC Championships for the first time in program history and mentored Grayson Murphy to multiple All-American honors.
