Seven Americans Are Slated To Receive Invite To Worlds Without The Standard
In events where not enough athletes hit the world standard the IAAF will invite athletes the World Championships in order to fill the fields based on descending order lists within the standard qualifying time window. As a result seven Americans are slated to receive an invite from the IAAF despite not having the world standard. Here are those seven athletes.

In events where not enough athletes hit the world standard the IAAF will invite athletes the World Championships in order to fill the fields based on descending order lists within the standard qualifying time window. As a result seven Americans are slated to receive an invite from the IAAF despite not having the world standard. Here are those seven athletes.


Men’s High Jump (32 Spots)

Keenon Laine -or- Juvaughn Harrison (2.28m)

Both are ranked 25th on IAAF’s descending order list. (USATF will have to decide who gets the invite)


Men’s Decathlon (24 Spots)

Harrison Williams (8,188 points)

Currently ranked 20th on IAAF’s descending order list provided Zach Ziemek scratches due to injury.


Men’s Javelin Throw (32 Spots)

Michael Shuey (82.85m)

Currently ranked 25th on IAAF’s descending order list.


Men’s Javelin Throw (32 Spots)

Riley Dolezal (82.84m)

Currently ranked 27th on IAAF’s descending order list.


Women’s High Jump (32 Spots)

Ty Butts (1.92m)

Currently ranked 27th on IAAF’s descending order list.


Women’s Heptathlon (24 Spots)

Chari Hawkins (6,230 points)

Currently ranked 22nd on IAAF’s descending order list.


Women’s 20km Race Walk (60 Spots)

Maria Michta-Coffey (1:33:05)

Currently ranked 55th on IAAF’s descending order list.
