“Just waking up, like everyone else check social media. Saw that social media saying I’m confirmed to have COVID-19,” the retired sprinter said.
“Did a test on Saturday to leave because I work. Trying to be responsible so I’m going to stay in and stay away from my friends. And also, I’m having no symptoms. So I’m going to quarantine myself and wait on the confirmation to see what is the protocol.”
Nationwide News in Jamaica reported on Monday that Bolt’s test came back positive on Sunday. The eight-time Olympic gold medalist celebrated his 34th birthday recently at a party which appeared to have a large amount of guests not adhering to social distancing guidelines.
