2018 Berlin Marathon - 2:01:39 WORLD RECORD By Eliud Kipchoge!!!

Eliud Kipchoge breaks the marathon world record at the 2018 Berlin Marathon in 2:01:39, to break the old world record by 1:18 (Formerly held by Dennis Kimetto in 2:02:57. Kipchoge ran half marathon splits of 61:06 and 60:33 en route to the world record. Kipchoge won by almost 5 minutes with Kenyan Amos Kipruto finishing in second in 2:06:23 and Wilson Kipsang third in 2:06:48. Back in 2013, Kipsang ran 2:03:13 in Berlin to set the world record. In the women's race Gladys Cherono won in 2:18:11, which broke the previous course record (2:19:12, Mizuki Noguchi, 2005) by over a minute and ranks as the #4 fastest women's marathon in history. Ruti Aga finished second in 2:18:34 (#6 all-time) and Tirunesh Dibaba was third in 2:18:55. Dibaba has sub-2:19 in the marathon three times. Only two others have run under 2:19 multiple times, Paul Radcliffe (4) and Mary Keitany (2).
