Men's 4x400m Relay, Final 3 - A&M over Florida for the team title

The men’s team race came down to a dramatic final showdown between Texas A&M and Florida’s 4x400m relay squads. Heading into the last race of the NCAA Indoor Championships, Texas A&M and Florida had to win the relay in order to secure the team title. Originally ahead, Florida fell behind in the team race when Kunle Fasasi was disqualified from section 2 of the 400m final. Fasasi finished fifth and would have earned four points for the Gators.

Knowing the team title was in his hands, anchor leg Mylik Kerley caught Florida anchor leg Ryan Clark in the final lap to blast an NCAA meet record time of 3:02.80. The College Station home crowd exploded with excitement as the Aggies ended the meet with 46 points over the Gators’ 45.5 points. The performance secured Texas A&M’s first men’s NCAA indoor team title in program history.
