As a young athlete Dylan Armstrong started off doing every event track and field had to offer, high jump being his favorite. As he grew the throws became his event of choice and he began to excel in the hammer. Dylan finished second at the 2000 Junior World Championships in the hammer and also still holds the North American High School and Junior records. In 2004 he switched his focus to the shot put and has not looked back since. He made it to the 2007 World Championships and finished 7th and later that season won the Pan-Am Games. He has improved each year and at the Olympics last summer he finished 4th. His best is 21.04, which is also the Canadian record and so far this season he has thrown 20.92. Dylan hopes to continue his progression in Berlin next week where he will compete in the shot.
