Inspirational Performance of the Year - Best of 2009

null

Some wondered when we'd see an American win a major marathon. Some wondered if they'd ever see the Meb that got silver in Athens. On November 1, 2009, Meb Keflezighi answered all questions when he took down one of the strongest fields ever assembled at the NYC Marathon. Wear the USA red, white and blue, Meb outkicked Robert Cheruiyot in the final stages of the 26.2 mile race to PR in front of a wild US crowd and bring some flare back to US distance running. Thanks to Meb for inspiring us all and giving us something special to look forward to in Marathons to come!
