Coach James Li on Bernard Lagat

Currently in his 8th year as the distance coach at the University of Arizona, James Li came to Tucson from Washington State. In this interview Li talks about working with Lagat and why he has been successful for so long. Li also discusses Lagat's future racing plans.

It was at WSU that Li coached Bernard Lagat during his collegiate career. Li continues to coach Lagat as he progresses through one of the best careers in the history of distance running. Lagat has seven Olympic/WC medals, and Li has been there every step of the way. Lagat will run this weekend at the Boston Indoor Games where he will see current indoor American 5k record holder Galen Rupp. Watch for that 13:18 to drop a little more this Saturday...
