Moses Mosop after 2:03:06 fastest marathon debut ever at 2011 Boston Marathon

Moses Mosop ran the fastest debut marathon in history at the 2011 Boston Marathon by over three minutes. Moses Mosop's time of 2:03:06 landed him second overall behind 2011 Boston Marathon champ Geoffrey Mutai who ran 2:03:02. Mutai's time is the fastest marathon ever run, Mosop's time is the second fastest marathon of all-time. The Boston Marathon course is unfortunately not certified for international records to be set, therefore will not be officially recognized as the two fastest marks. On the track Mosop has run 7:36 for 3k, 12:54 for 5k and 26:49 for 10k. In 2005 Mosop was the bronze medalist at 10,000 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and was second at the 2007 World Cross Country Championships.
