Interview with Coach Tony Rowe at Endurance Augusta

In 1977, Tony Rowe took over the program that was the main rival of the team he competed for in high school. Developing a quick loyalty, he began a rewarding career in what has become a tradition-rich running program which has produced numerous individual and team state champions. Coach Rowe has earned Kentucky Coach of the Year honors on several occasions. He has also been named the 2004 and 2009 National Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. Rowe teaches health and physical education classes at Daviess County High School in Owensboro, KY. He has coached his athletes to numerous KHSAA state championships in cross country and track as well as several individual championships in his long and highly successful career. In 2006 he published a book about his time at Daviess County High School called, "Trails, Trials, and Triumphs". The book chronicles his career, his many athletes and the workouts and traditions that have made them successful over the many years.
