Collegiate Record 1000m (2:19.53) - Penn State Freshman Robby Creese

null

Freshman Robby Creese set Penn State, American Junior, and Collegiate Records in the 1000 meters at the 2012 Nittany Lion Challenge. Creese broke the record that was formerly held by Kansas State alum and 800 meter Olympian Christian Smith (2:19.57). The Penn State record had been held by Ryan Foster, a recent graduate and all-american of the program (2:19.60). The American Junior broken was Robby Andrews from 2009 when he ran 2:22.28, so Creese destroyed it! Before that Alan Webb held it from his 2:23.68 time in 2001. Creese is from Mount Airy, MD where he went to Glenelg High School. He came to PSU with PRs of 1:54, 4:10 and 9:17. He finished 11th at NBN in the mile as a senior. Big day for Creese!
