Michael Hammond of VT sets a 14 second PR in the 5k running 13:58 as he jumps up from his normal distance of 1500 meters. In 2011 Hammond missed making the final at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after finishing 7th indoors (PR of 3:58), however he bounced back at the US Championships to PR in 3:40 and make the 1500 meter final. Hammond, who was virtually unknown with the slowest PR of the field, is now a guy to look for!
