Galen Rupp broke another barrier on Saturday running under 13:00 in the 5000 meters for the first time in his career. Rupp came in with a "soft" PR of 13:06.80 and left with a mark of 12:58.90. Rupp now ranks #6 all-time in the US behind Lagat, Solinsky, Ritzenhien, Kennedy and Tegenkamp. They are the only six Americans to break the 13:00 mark while Rupp is the fastest American ever on US soil. Oh and by the way, he beat a guy named Kenenisa Bekele...NBD.
