Andy Bayer emerged as the victor in a wide open 1500 meter field. After sitting behind early leader German Fernandez, Bayer reacted when Miles Batty took the lead with 200 meters to go and ran Batty down on the final homestretch, just edging his opponent by one-hundredth of a second.
