Flotrack has both doubted and touted the Wisconsin Badgers this fall. After falling just three points shy of winning the Great Lakes title, coach Mick Byrne reiterated that the main goal was to make it through to the next round. With one race remaining in the season, two streaks have ended for the Badgers, but one still remains. UWBadgers.com writes, "Although their streak of 11-consecutive Great Lakes Regional titles came to an end, the Badgers extended their NCAA record for consecutive championship meet appearances to 42 straight." The press release added, "To put that into perspective, Wisconsin has qualified for every championship meet since 1972 -- when the regional format was introduced."
