Ezekiel Kemboi Has Infinite Gears
Race: IAAF 3,000m Steeplechase World Championship
Gap: N/A
Kicker: Ezekiel Kemboi (Kenya)
Recipient: The Field
Most spectacular kicks are about one man or woman being way back and then destroying the final 100-200m of the race to reel in the leaders and come away with a win. So it is unusual for Ezekiel KemboiÂ’s kick at the World Champs to be categorized as a kick. After all, Kemboi was in the lead with 250m to go. However, it was how fast the steeplechase champ was able to sprint while hurdling three barriers that earns him the kick of the year. Just watch the GOAT of menÂ’s steepling do his thing.
