Tyson Gay Hasn't Figured Out Bobsled Yet, But Ryan Bailey Has
Tyson Gay opted not to compete at the National Push Championships in Calgary this week due to inexperience, just three days after announcing his intent to try out for the U.S. bobsled team. Fellow sprinter Ryan Bailey, however, won his category to win the National Championship.

Team USA released a statement on Gay: "Gay flew to Calgary two days ago after finishing commitments following the 2016 Rio Olympics and has pushed a sled no more than 10 times. After meeting with the coaching staff it was decided that it was in Gay's best interest to focus on learning and to watch today's competition."

Though he did not compete in Calgary, Gay is expected to continue training with the U.S. bobsled team.

Bailey finished fourth in the 100m at the 2012 Olympic Games and was a member of the runner-up 4x100m relay. The track was not kind to Bailey this spring, who finished seventh in his prelim at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

56-year-old former NFL wide receiver/NCAA champion hurdler/Olympic bobsledder Willie Gault also went to Calgary, but opted out at the last minute:

And Lolo Jones finished seventh in her push competition. That's a lot of sprinters at a bobsled meet. Is "meet" the right word for a bobsled competition?
