The Best LIVE NCAA Reveal Show Ever

Flotrack is going bigger than ever in our coverage of next weekend’s regional action. When the first races kick off on Friday, November 14th, we will be live-streaming from our offices in Austin, Texas to update you on results from every region across the country. As soon as each region is complete, you will know who has locked up an auto bid to Terre Haute (top two in each region), and who will be waiting to see if they have done enough during the regular season to earn an at-large bid. When the final race is complete, we will announce all 31 teams heading to Terre Haute.

In order to make this happen, we will have correspondents on the ground at all nine regional meets who will be live tweeting and calling in during our live show to provide updates on their specific race action. This will be a LIVE Kolas Show unlike any other, as in the past we’ve had our NCAA announcement show hours after all the races are complete. With this all day event, you will be able to check in to see how your favorite team has finished immediately after their race is complete. As our correspondents relay information to us LIVE, you will know who’s in and who’s out for the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute on November 22nd.

The system we will use to reveal at-large teams for NCAA’s is known as the Kolas Calculator. Named for its creator, Brian Kolas, the calculator works by counting up all the “wins” teams have earned over projected top 2 teams in a region during the regular season, and adding up their points to determine the 13 at-large teams for Terre Haute. As teams projected outside of the top two in their region beat top two projected teams from others regions, points are earned. Similarly, teams without any wins over projected top two region teams can be “pushed in” by beating teams during the season that have “wins” over top two regional teams. In addition, the top four runners at each regional meet NOT on a qualifying team will qualify for NCAA's as an individual.

Tune in on Friday, November 14th starting at 10am CT as we will be LIVE all day until each regional race is complete. Check out our Regional Central page HERE.
