LOS ANGELES - The 32nd Arcadia Invitational once again proved to be a premier event for high schoolers across the country.  In this edition, there were several top performances and records (see Gunnar Nixon's record).

None more impressive than the races by California kids Ammar Moussa (Arcadia) and Jantzsen Oshier (Trabuco Hills).

On the distance side, hometown favorite Ammar Moussa of Arcadia thrilled the crowd with an 8:49.59, leading a field that featured 10 runners under 9 minutes. VIDEO

Jantzsen, of recent Adidas Golden Stripe and Flotrack Tasty Race of the Week fame, continued his dominance at the mile distance, winning in 4:06.81.  Oshier had to hold off Matt Carpowich, who ran a big PR is 4:07.15.  VIDEO

It took going to his 2nd best LJ from Thursday to get a wind-legal score, but Gunnar Nixon OK now owns the decathlon USR with international implements with 7524.  His winning score for that event was 7577, but included Thursday's 24-01.75 LJ with a 4.4 wind - which pushed the average of his wind-affected marks over the allowable 2.0.  His 2nd best LJ of 23-05.25 was with a legal 1.4, good for the new standard. Curtis Beach owned the old mark at 7466 from 2009

Nixon also won the HS decathlon, despite no mark in that event's 12-lb. shot put, with 7036.  He would have needed a huge PR put of 53-07 to beat Beach's 7909 USR for that decathlon

Abrianna Torres CA had the heptathlon lead after six of the seven events Friday with 4151 pts. to Jasmine Hall's 4091
