The American Record in the 2-mile may fall on Saturday, but just prior to that event up in Boston, a few more records could be erased. Lalonde Gordon, the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist at 400m (Trinidad & Tobago) & Julius Mutekanga, 2012 Olympian 800m (Uganda) are meeting on January 25th to battle it out over 500m. Three records could fall in this race: -The Uganda NR (1:01.26) Held by Mutekanga -Trinidad & Tobago NR (1:00.87) -Boston University Facility Record, currently held by George Empty since March 2013 (1:01.24). Mutekenga held the record from 08'-13', until Empty just broke it last March (1:01.26). He looks to reclaim that record at his favorite track. Both train in NYC and are set to lock horns in Boston. This should light some fire and speed on the track as it'll be just prior to the American Record attempt in the 2-mile by Galen Rupp. Video shot and edited by Kate Racanelli / Justin Britton
