ND Fighting Irish 6 x .95 Mile Relay

Every year, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame run the Hi-Ci Relays before opening their cross-country season. Coach Joe Piane creates teams of two and has each runner race .95 miles three times each. Generations of runners have passed along the plastic leg that serves as the trophy. This year, Walter Schafer looked to repeat as champion with Arizona State transfer Nick Happe.
