16-year-old Candace Hill Rocked the High School Scene in 2015.

Before the sophomore from Rockdale County High in Georgia announced a professional contract with ASICS on December 18, she was undefeated in her final season of high school running. On the national stage she won the adidas Dream 100m in 11.21 (-1.5) and the Prefontaine Classic 200m in 23.64. She became the first high school prep to break 11 seconds in the 100m at the Brooks PR Invitational (10.98, HSR, WYR), and brought home two gold medals from the World Youth Championships in the 100m (11.08) and 200m (22.43).

Allyson Felix turned pro after her 2003 high school graduation and won a silver medal in the 200m at the 2004 Summer Olympics just one year later — and the phenomenon is only growing. Mary Cain and Alexa Efraimson would have just completed their first year in the NCAA if they hadnÂ’t signed Nike contracts before the fall of 2015, and rising high school senior Kaylin Whitney signed with Nike on her seventeenth birthday this year.
