Despite Wildcat Bella Burda's hard-fought individual win in just over 20 minutes, Penn State made a statement by landing five runners in the top 10 at the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Regional to secure a 31-point total over second-place Villanova's 60.

Senior Nittany Lion and individual runner-up Jillian Hunsberger led a string of underclassmen--freshman Alison Willingmyre in fifth, sophomore Kathryn Munks in sixth, freshman Danae Rivers in eighth--and junior Greta Lindsey in 10th to convincingly earn their spot in the NCAA Championships.

Junior Gabrielle Forrest of Princeton led the individual qualifiers in third place, followed by Bucknell senior Christine Bendzinski, senior Alexandra Lucki of Maryland, and Georgetown freshman Martha McDonald.
