The 2023 World Athletic Championships in Budapest, Hungary begin on Aug. 19 as some of the best track and field athletes on Earth compete for gold. 

There are more than 2,000 athletes expected to compete at the event, which could be a preview for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic games.

USATF Outdoor Championships 2023 Results: Here Are The Champions

The United States enters the meet expecting to compete for gold in several events, but the roster took a hit when Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, the defending world and Olympic champion in the 400m hurdles, withdrew from the event with a knee injury.  

The meet will be televised and streamed on the NBC networks and NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.
